To design a web presence/identity piece for a modern artist to showcase his current and previous artwork and integrate it into a content management system. A customized WordPress templates. Custom php/WordPress code was created to showcase work based on tags, as well as showing outside links in the shadowbox plugin, which also showcases the artist’s work. Incorporated in the sites design was a calendar and contact page.
I was adding a new feature to my blog that incorporates jQuery’s click function to reveal a hidden div. When you click on the (+) sign, a custom AddThis toolbox was to appear. During the first round of coding, however, I found that the use of return false with the tag did not work in IE 7 or IE 8.
The design of the site was inspired by the identity materials I had developed for the company along with an advertisement/new product identity developed by Alltec’s newly hired graphic designer at that time. The site application is programmed PHP and backed by a Mysql database. It includes a user administration console, a data management console, and a file management console, which requires special permissions to access. Other registered users have access to the products technical calculators only.
While working on my blog I noticed something peculiar: my background transparent png file was being turned into a gradient background. First I thought it was a plugin conflict; however, after turning off all plug-ins for this site, it soon became apparent that it was an Internet Explorer issue.
A redesign of Alltec’s intranet site into a content management system that could be updated by multiple employees and would support the following web-based applications: document management, calculators, calendar, & employee in/out board.
