About
I was born in Asheville, NC and went to the University of Cincinnati as a Ballet Major. I spent a brief amount of time in New Orleans before moving back to Asheville. I performed and taught, professionally, ballet and modern dance for about four years. I hold an AAS degree in web technologies. Currently, I am the information technology manager with Brumit Restaurant Group.
I consider myself a diverse person with many different interests. One-time ballerina, artist to now technology geek; I consider myself well-rounded and opened minded. I have had numerous different hobbies and interests beyond that of artist and geek: rock climbing, costume design, jewelry/accessory design, yoga, hiking, camping, violin study, and writing poetry to name a few. Juxtaposition rock climbing, hiking, and camping with going to the theatre, violin study, and my interest in art/design and it will become clear that I love diversity.
I love different cultures. Though I have not had the opportunity to travel outside of the States in numerous years, I have been to Nepal, India, and the Bahamas (not a very exotic place, but nevertheless). My philosophy of life comes from many different religions and cultures. Ironically, though, I am agnostic.
Just as diverse as my hobbies, is my taste in music. I have a long standing affinity to classical music but do not mind rocking out to some Marilyn Manson. Trip Hop seems to be my genre of choice these days with Massive Attack, DJ Krush, and Portishead topping my list.
The other side of social events is having a coffee or dinner with my friends and dancing Argentine tango. I have been known to travel ten hours on a whim to meet new people. I can be spontaneous but generally am quite calculating with my future plans.
My friends would say that I am dependable and that they can always rely on me to be there in their times of need. My family would say, “are you still living in Asheville? We never see you.” I consider my father to be my hero and I try to live my life through emulating his honesty, integrity, and kindness. I feel like my friends are an extension of my family. I am devoted, loyal, and above all unique.
